RedBlack Consulting Fall 2025

Yesterday, RedBlack Consulting, UMD AMA’s fully student-run marketing consulting group, wrapped up the semester with its Fall 2025 Final Showcase. The program is led by our Co-VPs of Marketing Consulting, Nina Brown and Kaity . During the showcase, the four student teams presented the results of their semester-long projects. Throughout the semester, our talented interns collaborated with local clients to drive meaningful, real-world solutions. Here is a look at the work done by each team during the Fall 2025 semester.

Connyct is a social media startup that connects students with events on campus. The company is currently developing Campus AI, a chat-based tool designed to assist students. This semester, the team worked to increase brand awareness, boost app downloads, educate users on key features, and establish a clear brand identity. To achieve this, the group organized a structured schedule for digital content, including photo graphics, videos, Canva news posts, and Instagram stories, to be shared across the company’s social media platforms. Through this work, they increased viewership and gained valuable insights into high-performing content. In addition, the interns took a creative and effective approach to brand activations through event marketing. In collaboration with Shop Made in Maryland, the team leveraged high student traffic atmosphere and promotions to generate over 100 app downloads, collect survey responses, and drive sales revenue for Shop Made in Maryland. Throughout the semester, the team gained valuable experience in digital marketing, marketing analytics, and event marketing, helping them build a stronger and more cohesive brand identity for Connyct.


Red Carpet Remodeling

Red Carpet Remodeling is a Maryland-based home improvement company specializing in exterior renovation services. The team’s semester goal was to establish a consistent and recognizable brand, strengthen the company’s online presence, develop a marketing strategy that aligns long-term, and increase qualified leads. The team's strategy focused on the target market segment of suburban homeowners aged 60-70 years old in the DMV. Their work included creating digital content such as Facebook and Google Ads, designing direct mail materials, developing a welcome packet, gathering feedback through surveys, and improving the company’s newsletter design. On top of this, the interns even supported rebranding efforts, refreshing outdated visuals with updated layouts and new typography to create a more modern, visually balanced look. Overall, the team strengthened its collaborative skills while learning how to effectively target an older audience through consistent branding, tailored graphics, and authentic storytelling. This highlighted the value of focusing on a clear demographic and creating visuals that align with their aesthetic.


Embrace your Light Wellness and Counseling

Embrace Your Light Counseling empowers African American women and teenagers to heal from past trauma and effectively regulate their emotions through individual therapy, life coaching, and support groups, and a variety of wellness workshops and events. The intern team worked to support the company by creating and implementing a range of marketing materials, including flyers, email templates, newsletter designs, and Instagram reels. Their project also included developing promotional content for the founder’s children’s book and creating templates for workshop and email communications. With this project, the interns reinforced valuable skills in time management, maintained a growth mindset, and combined curiosity with collaboration, all while gaining real world experience in supporting the company.


Focus First Academic Coaching

Focus First Academic Coaching is a tutor service specializing in helping students with ADHD, dyslexia, and executive functioning challenges The company provides highly individualized instruction designed to help students build the skills they need to succeed. The goal of the team’s project was to strengthen the company’s SEO and social media presence. They pursued this by establishing a consistent posting schedule, posting reels, publishing blog articles, and launching a TikTok account to incorporate a more creative and humorous marketing approach. By the end of the semester, the team increased digital engagement through an improved social media presence, established a strong SEO foundation for future marketing initiatives, and further developed the company’s blog. A standout accomplishment for this group was their ability to blend creativity, professionalism, and humor across the content they produced.


Conclusion

From boosting the visibility of social app startups to developing effective strategies for local service organizations, this semester's projects showcased the dedication, creativity, and strategic thinking of our student consultants. We are deeply grateful to our clients, project teams, and supporters for making this work possible. UMD AMA is extremely proud of the impact our interns made and meaningful work accomplished this Fall 2025 semester.
