This evening, in collaboration with UMD’s Business & IT Society (BITS), Business Beyond Borders (BBB), and the Women in Business Association (WBA), we engaged in a Jeopardy-inspired Business Trivia Night! Isabella Guggino, Co-VP of Membership Operations, and Maeve Smarick, Co-VP of Marketing, were our hosts for the evening and led us through the event where teams of 5-6 competed against one another to put their business knowledge to the test and network with members from other clubs!

Participants played two rounds of questions, fighting to get points on the board and show off their business knowledge.
The categories featured in round one:
Guess the Brand
Emerging Tech
Business Terms
Global Market
Entrepreneurs and Startups
These questions allowed members to expand their knowledge on different aspects of business, encouraging players to think critically on business and technology that is relevant today. With fascinating topics such as Machine Learning, the Amazon Fire Phone flop, and Facebook’s acquisition of Instagram, these questions prompted players to draw conclusions based on their knowledge, promoting collaboration and problem-solving.
The categories featured in round two:
Tech Companies
Famous Business Deals
Finance
Business Management
Marketing Buzzwords
This round challenged players to reflect on the knowledge they have obtained in their classes, covering key marketing terminology, financial principles, and general business concepts. Despite this round being more difficult, it enabled players to learn more about the concepts they will likely encounter in their future careers, regardless of industry. From leadership styles and management structures to common marketing strategies and financial concepts, players were able to deepen their understanding of concepts that shape the business world today!

AMA would like to thank BITS, BBB, and WBA for joining us for Jeopardy Night! This collaboration between the four clubs fostered networking opportunities while gaining insight into key business and marketing topics relevant to today’s working world.
