Develop a Foundation in Digital Marketing with LinkedIn Learning

Julia Lienhard, November 09, 2019.

Are you interested in a career in digital marketing but are overwhelmed with where to start? Well, luckily I am here to tell you that you can develop a digital marketing foundation for free just by taking advantage of an educational tool that is provided by the Department of Human Resources at the University of Maryland.

For those of you who may not know, UMD students have free unrestricted access to LinkedIn Learning which is an online platform that offers thousands of courses and custom learning paths on a variety of fields. Most of the online courses range from 15-25 hours content, and once you have completed the course, you will be issued a certification. The best part is that you can share this certification to your LinkedIn profile to demonstrate to future employers that you have a vested interest in this field. Not to mention that online certifications also make great bullet points on a resume - just saying.

This past summer I completed an online course via LinkedIn Learning that covered the principles of online marketing & data analytics. The Online Marketing Foundations course was broken in thirteen segments; digital marketing strategy, foundations of analytics, search engine optimization (SEO & SEM), search and display marketing, social media marketing, video marketing, email marketing, content marketing, mobile marketing, expanding digital marketing skills, and influencer marketing. Overall, participants can learn how to design content, create a content plan, and develop digital marketing campaigns in just one week of modules.

If you are interested in engaging with course experts and expanding your knowledge in a particular field like digital marketing you can activate your free account today at go.umd.edu/inlearning.
